Blink-182 Tour Tickets – Blink-182 Drives into New Neighborhoods

No one need ask “What’s their name again?” In the past two decades, Blink-182 has gone from playing music for local neighborhood fans to rocking neighborhoods all across the nation. How appropriate that the massively popular pop-punkers have a new record titled Neighborhoods due out Sept. 27.

It comes after a period of estrangement between the band members, who have spent time working on their own side projects, like Angels and Airwaves and Transplants. They’ve had a good long breather away from Blink, and fans are happy to see them back together. There’s been a lot of excitement over Neighborhoods, seeing as it is the first release from the trio since a self-titled release way back in 2003. The release date for the new record has been pushed back a number of times in the past year or so, but it’s looking like Sept. 27 is definitely a set date.

According to an article posted on Gibson.com, the process of recording the album was initially put off as the band members got reacquainted. Mark Hoppus is quoted as saying: “I think it took, first of all, reconnecting as friends after not having spoken for about five years. And then it took getting back into the studio as well as getting back out on the road.” Hoppus added that he, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker have all agreed that Blink is a priority for them right now in their lives, and will be placed ahead of any of the side projects the guys have been working on.

“Blink will last as long as we enjoy what we’re doing, and recording this album has been a lot of fun,” Hoppus went on to explain. “I think there’s something in the madness and in the creative process between the three of us that can be so frustrating at times, but it can also be a massive joy. And somewhere in that tension I think is where the good work from Blink-182 gets done. So I can see us lasting for many years.”

The band has currently been on the road with the Honda Civic Tour, hitting a number of cities across the country along with My Chemical Romance. It’s a heck of a bill, and when you throw in the chance of seeing Blink reunited, along with new material, you can see why Blink-182 tickets have been such hot sellers. Their first single was released back in July and called “Up All Night,” while a second single called “After Midnight” is expected to be released in the near future, as well.

Besides Blink and My Chemical Romance, the Honda Civic Tour includes some great opening acts. Manchester Orchestra, ’90s punk kings Rancid and indie-rockers Matt and Kim will also be on the lineup in various cities. Undoubtedly, however, Blink-182′s members will be the stars of the show as punk fans of all ages get to watch their favorite act bring back all the songs they’ve grown up listening to. It’s been a long road for Blink, but fans are glad to see them finally coming back home.
