Black Milk - TRONIC

Friday, October 31st, 2008

As the title implies, Black Milk’s Tronic is filled with futuristic beats. The 25 year-old producer and MC has moved away from the traditional soul-sample sound, and more towards live instrumentation and vintage synthesizers. Tronic still sounds like Black Milk though, particularly in its reliance on dirty drum breaks; it’s just a little more left-field (think Slum Village’s Trinity). While Black holds down nearly all of the verses, the album features a few guest spots including Pharoahe Monch, Royce Da 5′9″, and Sean Price. Tronic also features assistance from Dwele and DJ Premier.

Black Milk’s Tronic is available now at Fat Beats, and we highly recommend it.
