Bembé Segué, unquestionably and absolutely our favorite singer, has released a collection of previously unreleased songs. Recorded a decade ago, the songs were to form Bembé’s much-anticipated debut album, but for some reason the project was never completed. So the Soul, Jazz, and Broken Beat vocalist, who has collaborated with artists such as IG Culture, Dego, Mark de Clive-Lowe, and Bugz in the Attic, has released Untitled (Demo Album), compiling the original demo tracks.
While we still hope for an official release, this demo album is a very special treat for fans of the inimitable Bembé Segué. Listen below.
Kaidi Tatham, Akwasi Mensah, Matt Lord, and Dego Ranks have just released their full-length, self-titled (Tatham, Mensah, Lord & Ranks) LP on 2000Black, and it features appearances by Mark Force, Bembe Segue, and Nadine Charles. All four producers, having worked together since the 90s, are now based in different countries. But the group came together to record this album, which hints at international flavors, and yet is distinctly West London in sound and style.

The long awaited and eagerly anticipated new album by Mark de Clive-Lowe, called Renegades, is out now. Renegades features percussion by Sheila E, bass by Pino Palladino, strings by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, and vocalists such as Nia Andrews, Tawiah, Sandra Nkale, Omar, and my personal favorite Bembe Segue.
