Hey Mr. DJ, and all fans of R&B slow jams, check out this new song called “Stronger” by Brandon Williams featuring Jean Baylor – formerly of Zhané – on vocals. Out now on Reel People Music, the single also includes a soulful house remix by Paris Cesvette, which you may groove to even more than the original. Listen below.
So Many Ways is the debut full length album from Russian producer and DJ Lay-Far; the record is also one of Leisure Lab’s top releases of 2013. Lay-Far delivers depth, funk, and hints of boogie with this collection of jazzy and soulful deep house tracks. Favorites include the bruk-ish “Let Me Fly Away,” “Stand Up” featuring Pete Simpson’s socially conscious vocals, and the 4hero-esque “Can’t Deny (with Souled and Yannah Valdevitt)”. Listen to an album preview below.
Imaani has had such an impressive career already that it’s hard to believe her forthcoming album on Reel People Music will be her solo debut.
The singer started out learning from the legendary Jocelyn Brown, and went on to sing for the equally notable Incognito. She performed for over 100 million people and finished second in the 1998 Eurovision contest, and after a number of dance anthems for Defected Records, Imaani collaborated with The Layabouts for their album Future Retro.
Reel People Music has announced that Imaani’s debut solo album will drop this year. The lead-off single from the record is called “Live Without Love,” and you can hear it below.
Zane Tate’s Latin Jazz-flavored house single, “El Tiempo Es Circular (featuring Alex Bershadsky and Aline Esquivel)” has been re-released on Juno Download, and is available now.
Mick Verma has released some new deep and soulful house with his new EP called Something for Nothing. Listen in below.
