DNA is the massive new album from Reggie B, and it’s filled with galactic future funk. Heavy beats hold down the grooves behind deep and spacey synths and wobbly bass-lines while the melodies are driven by neo soul vocals. The lead-off track, “Do You Wanna Ride” is a California-style joint with B. Bravo all over it. And the funkadelic sound meets Khemetic lyrics as Reggie B explores some lofty ideas, space-travel-meets-ancient-Egypt themes, which he revisits in songs such as “Martian Man” featuring DJ Spinna. But DNA isn’t all fantasy and philosophy: this record has emotion too with standout songs like the Prince-esque “Just Enough,” and the sweet electro soul ballad “Your Ways.”

Amalia’s new track, “Freeze That!” is produced by Opolopo, and comes from the Tokyo Dawn compilation, The Boogie Volume 2.
Tokyo Dawn says of the album:
Uncompromisable artists unite and unleash cosmic 80’s & 90’s throwbacks and futurist funk that rip apart all predefined notions of what new boogie is… Besides celebrated TDR artists like Amalia, Blaktroniks, Colonel Red, Opolopo, SoulParlor, Stan Smith, Swede:art and Vindahl, the compilation also holds many unreleased gems from boogie ambassadors such as Dam-Funk, AD Bourke, B. Bravo and more. On mic duty, essential artists Bantu Soul, Erik Rico, Psaul, Oddisee and Reggie B shine amongst others.
