With +FE Music: The Reworks, the Foreign Exchange family has released an album of beautifully progressive soul music. The release features remixes of past tracks – actually the word “remix” doesn’t quite capture the record’s adventurous sounds. These songs truly are reworks, most of them jumping into entirely different sub-genres from their original versions. And, while many remix albums are usually bonus projects or holdovers to satiate fans while they wait for the next real album, The Reworks stands on its own as a composition. In fact, it shines.
Foreign Exchange Music presents the official music video for the second single taken from YahZarah’s album The Ballad of Purple Saint James. The track is called “Cry Over You,” and features a guest appearance by Phonte.
This is the new video for YahZarah’s single, “Why Dontcha Call Me No More.” It’s directed by Matt Koza, and features appearances from the Foreign Exchange family.
Take a deep breath when you listen to YahZarah’s The Ballad of Purple Saint James – that’s the fresh air of some of the sweetest R&B music you’ve heard in a long time. And while YahZarah stands firmly on a foundation of R&B, soul and gospel influences on The Ballad, she leads listeners into Future Soul territory as well. But the album isn’t just an exploration of genres. Rather, The Ballad of Purple Saint James feels more like an exploration of YahZarah: a personal and melodic journey to some painful and joyful places.
We’re a little late on this one, but didn’t want you to miss it. This is the new single from YahZarah’s The Ballad of Purple St. James LP, called “Why Dontcha Call Me No More.”
